The actress gave birth to her 7-year-old son Ryder - from her former marriage to Black Crows singer Chris Robinson - at the age of 24 and insisted that she does not regret the decision to start a family early.
"I didn't feel like I was having a baby young… [he was] my family's first grandkid and to me it just felt normal," she told reporters at a press conference for her new film Something Borrowed.
"Now I have a little boy who is just his own person… the baby is really starting to go away and now I'm like, 'I really was a young mum. I'm so happy that I had a child so young'. He is my buddy."
Hudson is currently expecting a baby with boyfriend and Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy, the first for the couple and the second for the actress.
She recently admitted that she hates the changes that her body has gone through since becoming pregnant.
