The Aussie actor, who is best known for playing the title role in Thor, spent two years as a child living in the remote Outback community of Bulman and said that he recommends it to everyone wanting to visit his country.
Hemsworth told The ABC: "I want to try and get up to the Northern Territory next time and get back up that way.
"I have people, a lot of them, asking, 'Where should I go in Australia?' The first thing they think is Sydney and I say, 'No, if you want to see something different and beautiful and diverse, head north.' So that is my bit."
Hemsworth recently revealed that playing comic book character Thor is "an absolute dream" as it fulfils all his childhood fantasies.
He also said that he found co-star Sir Anthony Hopkins "impressive", adding: "His whole approach to this business, his work ethic and attitude on set was inspiring. However many films down the track, he still has that [ethic] and he still is excited to be there and treats everyone as equals."
