Kacey Ainsworth has spoken out against the pressure on new mothers to act and look perfect.
The EastEnders actress pointed to the "yummy mummy" culture which makes women feel they have something to prove.
"When you're a first time mother you feel like you have to show the world you can cope," she said. "There's a lot of coverage about people who have it all - a lot of yummy mummy stuff.
"I think everybody feels the pressure. I don't buy into any of it," the 35-year-old continued. "Having a baby is a very individual thing and if you want to go on a diet and get back into your jeans that's fine."
Ainsworth's Little Mo character is currently learning to cope with motherhood in the soap.
She also revealed she battled anorexia when younger, but is now happy with her body. "I don't have time to obsess about eating and fitness any more. The anorexia was a period when I thought you had to be really thin to be successful," she explained. "I got that warped and twisted in my head.
"Now I know you have to be in shape and look after yourself but that can be whatever shape you want."
