Ricky Wilson finishes London Marathon

Ricky Wilson has returned to complete the London Marathon five days after it took place.

The Kaiser Chiefs frontman collapsed before the finish of the race last Sunday and was later treated by paramedics.

Two days after the race, Wilson wrote on his Twitter page: "I collapsed after 3 hours 20 at Mile 24 of the Marathon. Very disappointed! Will try and get it finished before the weekend.

"Thanks a lot to all the ambulance guys who brought me round. I can't remember their names but I couldn't recall mine at the time. The doctors asked me loads of questions as I recovered to see how my head was doing. I'm still struggling with the Prime Minister one."

After returning to finish the marathon, Wilson wrote on his page: "At the finish line. Better late than never. 4 days 23 hours and 51 minutes." and posted a picture of him celebrating with friends.

His bandmate Nick Hodgson also wrote on Twitter: "Ricky has finished the marathon! You've got to admire his balls."

A 28-year-old man called Sam Robinson, who completed the London Marathon, went on immediately after the race to run another 99 miles to his Cambridgeshire home.
