Robert Pattinson 'pretended to know royals'

Robert Pattinson has revealed that he used to pretend to people in America that he knew the royal family.

The Water For Elephants actor explained that although he has never met any of the monarchy, people in the US were easily convinced that he had.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Pattinson said: "I don't think I've ever met them. I used to tell people when I came to the States that I did. They believed me!

"Five or six years ago when I first used to come to Los Angeles there weren't many English people, now there are like a million and people still believe me."

The 24-year-old frequently travels between Canada, the US and the UK for work, and admitted that he is always losing his possessions.

He joked: "I have three bags. Luckily I wear the same thing every single day. But I still manage to lose things."

Pattinson was recently given advice on how to handle fame by actor Jason Priestley.
