Mel Gibson: 'My private life is mundane'

Mel Gibson has said that he doesn't understand why the general public are so interested in his private life.

Gibson, who has faced a storm of controversy over the past year, explained that his everyday life is actually much more ordinary than everybody seems to think.

"It's nobody's business. It really isn't," Gibson said recently, according to Starpulse. "Why is that of interest to anyone?"

"It always baffles me, if people understood how mundane my life really is," Gibson added. "You're sort of thinking, who cares?"

The actor recently broke his silence about the recordings of him being aggressive towards ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, saying that he doesn't blame the public for turning against him and admitting that he wouldn't mind if he never acted again.

Gibson escaped a jail sentence last month, stemming from his arrest for a misdemeanor of battery, by agreeing to do 16 hours of community service at a children's charity.
