According to TMZ, the 'Bed Intruder' star was apprehended in the early hours of Saturday morning, where he was held in custody for a short period of time before being released.
Dodson was charged with a misdemeanor of marijuana possession, as well as handed previous charges for speeding and various other traffic violations.
Dodson rose to fame in 2010 after a local news broadcast in which he animatedly described an attempted rape on his sister, telling fellow citizens to "hide your kids, hide your wife".
His interview was used as the basis for the YouTube song 'Bed Intruder' by the Gregory Brothers, which went on to win a Webby Award, and was declared YouTube's most globally watched non-music video of 2010.
Dodson has previously announced plans to film a reality TV series about his life.
