LeAnn Rimes thanks fans for wedding wishes

LeAnn Rimes has thanked fans for their well-wishes following her marriage to Eddie Cibrian.

The couple wed in an intimate ceremony on Friday, which was attended by 40 close friends and family members.

"Eddie and I are overwhelmed by the amount of lovely well wishes," the singer wrote on her official Twitter page on Sunday. "We are blessed and.... I'm Mrs Cibrian!!!!! So wonderful to wake up as husband and wife. Love to all of you."

She returned to the social networking site later in the day to update supporters on the pair's first day together as a married couple, adding: "After brunch on the beach w/ fam and friends we hit the bed and haven't moved! We passed out! Exhausted! Happiest first day as Mrs Cibrian!"

Rimes and Cibrian were initially reported to be tying the knot on Saturday, but instead surprised guests at their engagement party on Friday with an impromptu ceremony.

Rimes's ex-husband Dean Sheremet recently expressed his congratulations for the pair and wished them the best.
