Courteney Cox, David Arquette were 'odd couple'

Courteney Cox has revealed that she thinks she and her estranged husband David Arquette made an "odd pairing".

The actress compared herself and Arquette to their Scream 4 characters Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers-Riley.

When asked about Gale's relationship with Dewey in the horror movie, Cox explained to OK: "I love her relationship with David's character Dewey, and the fact that they're together is so funny. He's so earnest and she's so out to get ahead.

"It's just a very odd pairing and so were we. Although we're not really, but we kind of are."

The 46-year-old also admitted that director-and-producer Wes Craven brought her and Arquette closer together.

She added: "Wes was instrumental in us being together. He's kind of our mentor in relationships and in growing up.

"To get the chance to come back and do it again is just really fun."
