Peter Andre has admitted that he gets annoyed by reports suggesting that his love life is controlled by his management team Can Associates.

Andre has been linked to a number of females looked after by Claire Powell and Can, including Kerry Katona and The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs. He also recently dated Can client Elen Rivas.

However, speaking at the launch of the ninth series of his ITV2 show The Next Chapter, Andre said that rumours about his relationships being stage-managed were "annoying".

"Talking about the management, there was lots of talk about... deciding who I go out with. That was annoying me. I was like 'No, I do what I want to do'," he said. "[With Elen] it finally came to the point where I said, 'Do you know what? I'm going to have fun'."

Commenting on the breakdown of his relationship with Rivas, he said: "Up until Elen, I thought, 'I need to meet someone, I want to go out with someone'. You go through those stages but then, when I did it, I actually thought, 'I want to be on my own'.

"I kind of enjoy it. It's a nice feeling and I needed to go through that. God bless Elen, she's such a nice person and thankfully we're still very close."

Andre reiterated that he isn't looking for a new girlfriend at the moment and dismissed links between himself and Childs, highlighting the age difference between himself and the reality TV star. "I've always said she's cute, but I've always said to her, 'Call me dad'," he laughed.

Peter Andre: The Next Chapter returns on Thursday, April 28 at 9pm on ITV2.
