Katy Perry welcomed to Australia by Ruby Rose

Katy Perry has arrived in Australia.

The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer, who is visiting for her 'California Dreams' tour, landed in Melbourne yesterday morning and was later welcomed by fashion designer and TV personality Ruby Rose on Twitter.

Perry first wrote on her page: "The California Dreams tour has officially landed in Oz! We so excited (sic)."

Then Rose wrote: "Oz is happy to have you back lady! I'm playing at spice market... bad memories haha. Catch up soon."

The musician later used the microblogging website to promote her support act Zowie and to boast that she had "won" a battle with jet lag thanks to lots of espressos.

During her visit, Perry will attend the official launch of her perfume and is also performing at the Logie Awards on Sunday.

Perry and husband Russell Brand are reportedly planning a "second honeymoon" in Australia when he arrives to promote his film Arthur.
