Richie Sambora 'to enter rehabilitation centre'

Richie Sambora has decided to enter a rehabilitation centre in order to treat substance abuse, it has been reported.

The Bon Jovi guitarist has battled addiction for many years, and spent time at the Cirque Lodge, a Utah treatment facility, in 2007.

One year later, he was arrested for driving under the influence. His sentence of three years' probation is to expire this year.

Sources now tell TMZ that Sambora has once again decided to seek professional help to quell his dependency issues.

It is thought that the musician has not yet entered rehab, but will do so within the next few days.

Bon Jovi are currently scheduled to perform as part of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on April 30, but it is not yet clear whether the gig will go ahead as scheduled.

The rocker was married to actress Heather Locklear for more than a decade before the couple split in 2007. Sambora and Locklear are the parents to one daughter, 13-year-old Ava Elizabeth.
