Sara Groen pregnant with first child

Sara Groen has revealed that she is pregnant.

The Australian television presenter, who is married to businessman Clark Kirby, said that she cannot wait to become a mother later this year.

Groen told the Herald Sun: "Clark and I are happy to announce that we are expecting our first child in October."

The star married Kirby in a private St Kilda ceremony in January this year and described it as "the best day ever", while her new husband said that his bride looked "absolutely beautiful".

After the wedding, the couple went on a month-long honeymoon across three continents. She said: "We went to the Maldives, then to Austria to the snow, and then we finished in South Africa. Clark planned it. He did an incredible job - it really was the trip of a lifetime."

Last month, Groen accepted a role on Melbourne's news team. She said: "I am looking forward to it. It is a wonderful opportunity to be back with [Channel] Seven. The timing is great. I have had the chance to settle into my new home town and now I am ready for this."
