Meryl Streep says she thinks Lindsay Lohan is a great actress, as do her children.
The star rubbished recent tabloid claims about Lohan's party lifestyle, saying she was perfect to star alongside her as her daughter in new movie A Prairie Home Companion.
She explained: "I think I'd seen Freaky Friday maybe seven times. I have three daughters, and it's the Lindsay Lohan fan club at my house. I'm aware of the tabloid stuff because my kids tell me - but I don't read it, and frankly, I couldn't care less.
"Lindsay knew her lines better than we did. When they say 'Action', Lindsay is completely, visibly living in front of the camera, and that's all anybody really cares about."
