Harris previously helmed the 2009 awards telecast and has been enlisted by Tony producers to once again salute the best of Broadway, Deadline reports.
His first hosting stint netted the actor an 'Outstanding Special Class Programme' Emmy Award.
Harris's return to the Tonys has already been met with approval from his friend and Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who has starred in many Broadway productions including On The Town and The Twenty-Fifth Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
"Congrats to @ActuallyNPH for returning as host of the 2011 Tony Awards. He was brilliant a few years ago and will be brilliant again," Ferguson wrote on his official Twitter page.
Nominations for the 2011 ceremony were announced earlier this week with South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone's comic musical leading with 14 nods.
The 65th annual Tony Awards will air live from New York City's historic Beacon Theatre on June 12 on CBS.
