The Fighter actress will release the as-yet untitled volume via the publishing giant in 2013, reports USA Today.
"Melissa has a moving and gutsy story to tell, with a very happy ending," said Simon & Schuster executive editor Priscilla Painton in a statement.
"We look forward to making it possible for her to tell it."
Leo won the Academy Award for 'Best Supporting Actress' this year for her work in The Fighter and made a profane acceptance speech, for which she later apologised.
She previously described acting as a "lowly job" and insisted that she never planned to become famous.
