Six months ago, Franklin was forced to cancel a number of performances after allegedly suffering from an undisclosed illness, but the star has revealed that she is now back to full health.
"I'm excited," Franklin told CBS News recently. "As James Brown used to say, 'I'm ready to do my thing'."
"My health is wonderful. It is fabulous now," she continued.
Franklin was alleged to have been suffering from pancreatic cancer, and was also suspected to have undergone gastric bypass surgery after losing 80 pounds, but she has since denied both rumours.
"Well, it wasn't that. It just wasn't," she confirmed.
Franklin released her 38th studio album Aretha: A Woman Falling Out of Love earlier this month.
