Wayne and Coleen Rooney have revealed that their car was damaged after taking son Kai to a safari park this week.

The couple took the 1-year-old to the Knowsley attraction and drove through the monkey den in an Audi worth around £80,000.

Manchester United striker Wayne tweeted to his followers: "Just been Knowsley safari park with @ColeenRoo and Kai. Monkeys all over my car. Kai loved it (sic)."

Coleen then posted a number of shots which showed the mischievous primates pulling at trimming on the car and hanging off wing mirrors.

"Great time in safari park with Kai and @WayneRooney!!! The monkeys were so funny. X" Coleen posted on Twitter.

"Not good for your car though!!!" she added.

Wayne recently decided to join the micro-blogging site last month after his wife began receiving taunts about their relationship and his alleged infidelity.
