Gabby Logan denies affair with Alan Shearer

Gabby Logan has denied claims that she has had an affair with BBC Match of the Day pundit and colleague Alan Shearer.

The host of Final Score, who has two children with husband Kenny Logan, had been rumoured to have had a fling with former Newcastle striker Shearer, the Daily Mail reports.

When the rumours were brought to her attention on Twitter, Logan replied: "Didn't know thanks! Suffice to say I am not and never have. It's about internet gossip and how unfair it is."

She later added: "I'm a happily married and faithful wife. It is devastating and hurtful that malicious lies can be circulated on the internet without control when people who genuinely do have something to hide can be protected by court rulings."

Of internet claims that she had taken out a super-injunction to prevent publication of the allegations, she said: "I have never had a need or desire to use one. It's potentially damaging for free speech and would appear to be a tool for the rich."

Charity fundraiser Jemima Khan has this week also denied taking out a super-injunction over allegations that she has been unfaithful to her husband.
