Jessica Simpson has been seen wearing her wedding ring again - on a chain around her neck.

The blonde actress surprised Hollywood gossips by wearing the platinum wedding band originally given to her by her now ex-husband Nick Lachey during her holiday in Australia last week.

This marks the first time that Simpson has been seen out with the wedding band since her break-up with Lachey last November, and has prompted rumours that he is once again close to her heart.

The ring now shares a space with a cross - given as a present by her parents - that Simpson habitually wears.

A friend told American magazine In Touch: "She wants to keep all her memories close to her heart."
