Alicia Silverstone welcomes first child

Alicia Silverstone and husband Christopher Jarecki have welcomed their first child.

The Clueless actress, who revealed the pregnancy in January, announced the arrival of son Bear Blu Jarecki on Monday, reports People

The baby was born on Thursday in Los Angeles and weighed 7lbs, 15oz.

"Mum and Dad are completely in love [with their] beautiful baby boy," said a rep for the star in a statement.

Silverstone previously confessed that she has dreamed of motherhood since she was a young girl and admitted that she "couldn't wait" to start a family.

She and Jarecki married in an intimate Lake Tahoe, Nevada ceremony in June 2005, after eight years of dating.
