The Duchess of York, who is mother to Prince William's cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, said in an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show that she had visited Thailand after not being asked to attend the lavish ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
She explained: "[Not being invited was] so difficult. Because I wanted to be there with my girls and... to be getting them dressed and to go as a family. And also it was so hard because the last bride up that aisle was me."
However, Ferguson revealed that her former husband Prince Andrew had reassured their daughters on the day of the wedding by reminding the 51-year-old of how "perfect" their wedding had been.
Ferguson also added that Prince William and Prince Harry's mother Diana, Princess of Wales, would have been "so proud... [of] both of them", adding: "They did a great job."
The former royal is currently working on a show for the Oprah Winfrey Network.
