The Bad Teacher star recently confirmed that she is dating New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, saying: "Yes, Alex is my boyfriend. It's not a secret anymore."
In an interview with Maxim magazine, Diaz was asked if she believes marriage is a dying institution.
"I do. I think we have to make our own rules," she replied. "I don't think we should live our lives in relationships based off of old traditions that don't suit our world any longer."
Diaz also expressed her belief that "dry humping" is key to sustaining any long-term romantic relationship.
She explained: "One should dry-hump as much as possible. It leads to great things. I'd prescribe at least once per day. What's also nice about dry humping is that it can happen anywhere."
The actress previously admitted that regularly seeing a therapist has helped her overcome her "dark, brooding" personality.
Bad Teacher, which co-stars Diaz's former boyfriend Justin Timberlake, is released on June 24 in the US and the UK.
