Shania Twain: 'I was a wimp over affair'

Shania Twain has revealed that she felt like "a wimp" when she first confronted her former friend and ex-husband's mistress over their infidelity.

The country singer split from music producer Robert 'Mutt' Lange after it was revealed that her close friend Marie-Anne Thiebaud had carried out an affair with Twain's then-husband behind her back.

Speaking to People magazine, Twain said that she felt weak after first seeing Thiebaud when the relationship came to light.

"I had a total panic attack. I just told her that she was a bad person - that's all I could get out," she explained.

"When I left her, I thought to myself, 'You're such a wimp, you coward.' That was my big moment, and I blew it."

Twain subsequently fell in love with Thiebaud's former partner Frederic Thiebaud and married him earlier this year.

She added: "Fred has given me a second lease on love."

The 45-year-old recently admitted that she felt she did not want to live after discovering the affair between her best friend and husband.
