Heather Mills leaves hospital after ski accident

Heather Mills was hospitalised in Australia on Wednesday after sustaining injuries in a skiing accident.

A spokesperson for a Lienz medical centre confirmed in a press statement that Mills travelled by helicopter to seek medical treatment after fracturing her right shoulder blade. The star had been skiing on the Moelltaler glacier at the time she sustained the wound.

After spending several hours being observed by physicians, the former model was released on Thursday morning and is expected to make a full recovery.

"The injury will be treated without an operation and she is returning to Britain today," the hospital rep said.

Austria's national broadcasting service ORF later quoted Mills as joking about the incident, saying: "That's skiing, you know."

Last week, her ex-husband Paul McCartney became engaged to his girlfriend of more than for years, Nancy Shevell.
