The Mr Sunshine creator and star - who has previously sought treatment for addictions to alcohol and prescription drugs - will head to an unknown facility next month in order to continue his journey towards sobriety.
"I'm making plans to go away for a month to focus on my sobriety and to continue my life in recovery," he said in a statement released Thursday.
"Please enjoy making fun of me on the World Wide Web."
The star is said to have come to the decision on his own, with a source telling People: "There was no relapse."
Perry first entered rehab for a 28-day programme in 1997. He was seeking treatment for an addiction to Vicodin. He returned to rehab while filming Serving Sara in 2001.
He recently revealed that he finds scriptwriting to be a rewarding experience and hopes to pen more projects in the future.
