The country star spoke to Access Hollywood about her separation from Lange, who reportedly had an affair with Twain's close friend Marie-Anne Thiébaud.
"My husband just said that our relationship is over and didn't necessarily want a divorce," said Twain. "Well, he said, 'I may not be in a rush to get a divorce'. But you certainly can't have your cake and eat it too."
Twain went on to reveal that she had no idea about the affair.
"I'd understood that our marriage was over, but I did not know that there was an affair going on," said the singer.
Twain recently revealed that she felt weak when she heard about the Thiébaud affair.
Following her divorce from Lange, Twain married Thiébaud's former partner Frédéric Thiébaud early this year.
