The Hancock star caused uproar in the district of SoHo in New York City when he parked the trailer in the neighborhood.
In an interview with his former manager Russell Simmons for Global Grind, Smith stated that he does not comprehend why the trailer has suddenly become so unpopular.
"I don't really understand the controversy. Men in Black 1 and 2 and Hitch used the same trailer, in the same place," said Smith. "In fact, we use it every time."
Locals complained of the smell and the trailer was eventually towed.
Men in Black 3 will be the first movie that Smith has been in since 2008's Seven Pounds.
The third instalment in the alien franchise starring Smith and Tommy Lee Jones has been delayed numerous times due to script issues.
Men in Black 3 is scheduled to be released on May 25, 2012.
