In an interview with PopEater, the Middle actress confessed that her strong belief in God has caused her to be "lumped in" with other political conservatives and cost her work by more liberal Hollywood directors.
"We know for a fact there are some people who have said they wouldn't want to work with us because of our politics," she said, referring to herself and director husband David Hunt.
However, she insisted that her faith has allowed her to ignore the criticism she receives in the industry as she believes that a higher power is in charge of the turns her career will take.
"My feeling is all these things come from God and as long as I know I'm staying in line with Him, I don't have to worry if there is backlash," she explained. "God will open any doors he wants to open and if he closes doors that's fine to."
Heaton previously confessed that she believed her career was over following Everybody Loves Raymond's cancellation.
