Doherty was jailed for six months after pleading guilty to cocaine possession earlier today.
Blanco, 30, was found dead after falling from a first floor balcony where a party was taking place.
Doherty, together with friends Paul Roundhill and Johnny Jeannevol, helped police with their investigation after various people spotted the trio having an altercation with Blanco before the incident.
The musician has now written on his official blog: "When he fell or jumped he was alone. That is what happened. He either fell or was making an extreme point about the nature of life imitating art.
"I need to think. I need to explain. I need you to know that these families are torturing themselves in the quest for sinister plots and answers that are not there. The relatives have suffered due to the unprincipled media's insistence that foul play and the 'evil junky Pete Doherty' are to blame."
He said that he feels "sick to [his] heart with sadness" for Blanco's parents and told his mother: "Your son was well-liked and well-loved and many respected him for his wit and his talent and his intelligence."
