Ted Nugent has revealed that he finds the idea of having sex with another man to be "repulsive".

During an interview on Piers Morgan Tonight, Nugent - who is known for his conservative political stances - explained that he doesn't understand homosexuality, but would also never condemn gays and lesbians.

"I'm repulsed at the concept of man-on-man sex, I think it's against nature, I think it's strange as hell, but if that's what you are, I love you," the singer said.

Responding to Morgan's question as to whether he believes in alternative lifestyles, Nugent replied: "I'm not going to judge people's morals… I say live and let live. Like I said - [if you're] gay, go nuts. Martians - cool. I don't really care what you do."

The musician also went on to say that he'd never ostracise family or friends for being gay or for rejecting his famous love of guns.

He added: "Ultimately all that stuff is inconsequential."

Piers Morgan Tonight airs weeknights at 9pm ET on CNN and at 8pm GMT on CNN International.
