Britney sacks son's nanny

Pop princess Britney Spears has reacted to recent press criticism about her parenting skills by firing her son's minder.

The singer has been the subject of some harsh media attention recently following a visit from the Department of Children and Family Services. The visit was a direct result of Spears taking her son to hospital, claiming he fell out of his high chair.

Now Britney is so adamant to prove doubters wrong that she has let Sean Preston's nanny go, and has vowed to spend more time at home with him.

A friend of the star told America's In Touch magazine: "She wanted to be a mother and thought she could snap her fingers and be the perfect mum. But Britney is learning the hard way that being a good mother is something you always have to work at."
