Dr Drew: 'Jeff Conaway not doing well'

Dr. Drew Pinsky has commented on the condition of troubled actor Jeff Conaway, admitting that he is in a 'critical' condition.

Conaway was hospitalised earlier this week after being found unconscious at his home. A representative for the actor refuted rumours that the Taxi star had taken an overdose.

Pinsky, who previously worked with Conaway on his show Celebrity Rehab, visited the actor in hospital on Friday where he initially noted that the actor was 'stable' and likely to recover.

However, Pinksy claimed yesterday that Conaway had taken a turn for the worse, and noted that he was now suffering from sepsis.

"Jeff Conaway still considered critical with sepsis. Many people die from septic shock," Pinsky tweeted. "Yes, he is very tenuous.

"My hopes & prayers are with his family! We all need to pray for him. Not doing well today suddenly."

Conaway starred on the first two seasons of Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew, seeking help for his addictions to cocaine, alcohol, and painkillers.
