In an interview with the Daily Mail's You supplement, the Mad Men actress revealed that she was constantly harassed by "mean" students because of her association with other unconventional students who were interested in the arts.
"I went to a very mean school and was bullied like crazy. I was a bit of a goth with purple hair and I was also part of the drama group, which was filled with actors and writers and wasn't really accepted by the rest of the school," she recalled.
She went on to say that while the experience was a difficult one, it ultimately taught her lessons about herself which she lives by to this day.
"There was a long corridor with lockers on either side and kids would sit on top of them and spit on you. It was like something out of Lord of the Flies but if I learned anything it was to remain true to myself and not to conform for the sake of it," she said.
Hendricks recently dismissed claims that she has undergone plastic surgery, insisting that her breasts are real and have not been altered or enhanced.
She was previously confirmed to star in the upcoming boxing film The Bleeder alongside Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber.
