P Diddy to change name to Swag

P Diddy has revealed that he wants to be known as Swag for this week only after recovering from illness.

The rapper, real name Sean Combs, posted a YouTube video of him and his friends discussing his reasons for changing his name.

"I was sick for a week, and I had a lot to think about when I was almost dying underneath the covers with a fever. But I'm not dead, I am alive," he says in the clip.

"So I decided that I'm gonna change my name for a week, in honour of my comeback."

Combs and the others in the video enthusiastically shout "Swag!" many times. He adds: "I'm not going as Puff, Puffy, Puff Daddy, P Diddy, Diddy, King Combs. For this week only, you can call me by my new name Swag."

A new Twitter account in the Swag name has also been set up, which has already amassed over 18,000 followers.

Combs was named the wealthiest performer in hip-hop by Forbes earlier this year.

The American Idol contestants were recently coached by him on their "swagger".
