The British Hot in Cleveland star, who made her name as ditzy maid Daphne on long-running sitcom Frasier, told Loose Women that after three decades in America, she still isn't accepted as a local.
"I've lived there longer than I've lived here. I don't feel like this is home anymore and I still feel like a foreigner there. They think I sound terribly English and people here think I sound American," she explained.
"I think it's the phrasing and various words. You go into a restaurant and you don't want people making an issue, so you [put the accent on]."
Earlier this year, Leeves and Wendie Malick revealed that Hot in Cleveland co-star and veteran comedienne Betty White lives off junk food, despite being renowned for her youthful appearance and energy at 89.
