Kara DioGuardi: 'Pot brownies put me in hospital'

Kara DioGuardi has revealed that she once spent three days in hospital after eating too many pot brownies.

During an appearance on Lopez Tonight, the music producer and former American Idol judge recalled ingesting too many of the edibles while her former roommate and fellow Idol panellist Paula Abdul was away on vacation.

"There were these, little nuggets, little, you know, take six, not a lot. Six hours later I was like, 'Hey, what's going on?'" DioGuardi explained. "I fell out of bed, on the floor, I stumbled downstairs and I was like, 'I ate too much.' And the ambulance comes and is like, 'This bitch is as high as a kite'."

She went on to confess that the incident led to a three day hospital stay, during which she suffered from hallucinations and had to receive fluids via IV.

"The maid took them out, she was in the hospital, I had six, I almost died," she added.

A friend of Abdul told E Online that the brownies were leftovers from a house party and did not belong to the X Factor USA judge.

DioGuardi previously said that she and Simon Cowell did not get along while working together on American Idol.

She was recently sued over a car accident which took place in Los Angeles last year, despite not being the driver of the vehicle involved.
