The Australian supermodels, who are ambassadors for rival department stores Myer and David Jones, posed in red gowns for Marie Claire magazine's Australia's Red Dress campaign.
The publication's editor Jackie Frank told The Sunday Telegraph: "Politics aside, it's about coming together to support a cause that is relevant for women, and they're both great champions for charity and both understand the power of their celebrity to be able to make a difference."
Hawkins added: "Heart disease is the biggest killer of Australian women, but often we forget just how much we're at risk." Gale said that she used to presume that heart disease only affected older people.
Hawkins is currently planning her wedding to long-term boyfriend Jake Wall, while Gale has been single since splitting from comedian Andy Lee last year.
Dancing with the Stars host Sonia Kruger, Olympic swimmer Stephanie Rice and Winners and Losers actress Sophie Vallejo also took part in the shoot.
Earlier this year, Vallejo said that she felt very "lucky" to have made it in the acting industry after landing the lead role in the Channel Seven drama.
