The 'What the Hell' singer attended a Tampa Bay Devil Rays baseball game on Saturday where she cursed in front of a crowd of thousands after experiencing microphone difficulties during a post-game concert, according to TMZ.
The baseball team issued an apology for Lavigne's language, stating that they were disappointed in the singer.
"The Rays demand profanity-free performances from all of our concert performers and we are extremely disappointed by the language used in last night's show. It is not consistent with the family-friendly atmosphere that Tropicana Field is known for," read the statement.
The audience reportedly began booing the musician when her microphone failed to work, causing the 26-year-old to inadvertently curse.
Lavigne's most recent album Goodbye Lullaby was released on March 2.
The singer has insisted that the record is not just a break-up album. She split from Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley in September 2009.
Lavigne is currently dating Brody Jenner.
