Doherty's uncle hopes rocker is jailed

Pete Doherty's uncle has insisted that the rocker should be jailed.

Philip Michels' comments come after pictures of the Babyshambles frontman appearing to inject a fan with heroin were published in The Sun newspaper yesterday.

"Why the courts haven't thrown him in jail yet is beyond me," Philip told The Sun. "I hope they are as disgusted by these pictures as me and next time he is in court throw him in jail for at least a year. It's for his own good if he is ever going to get off heroin.

"I was so proud of Pete, now I'm ashamed. To damage your own health is one thing, but to put a needle into someone else, a girl already out of it on drugs, is disgusting."
