The Australian television star will fly back home in July to present a prize at the event. He quit his chatshow in 2009 before moving to Los Angeles with his actress wife Tasma Walton.
McManus said: "As a new recruit to the world of subscription television this has a first day of school feel to it, although my first day of school didn't have canapés and if it did I wouldn't have left."
Last year, stars attending the ASTRA Awards were put on an alcohol ban after various presenters appeared too intoxicated during the 2009 event. Radio star Tim Ross made derogatory comments about women and swore on stage, Brian McFadden allegedly drank beers during his hosting duties, while Underbelly actor Matthew Newton did a star turn over his seat.
This year's ASTRA Awards will take place on July 21 at the Sydney Theatre Company in Walsh Bay.
McManus revealed earlier this year that he will be hosting a new chatshow from LA for Foxtel. He said that he had "missed the adrenaline rush of a TV studio" and was looking forward to the launch of Rove LA.
He has also revealed that he has been "enjoying" life in the US, as he has the time to relax and "look after himself".
