The comic will impart wisdom to students during Oregon Episcopal School's June 10 graduation ceremony, the institution's director of communications confirmed to Willamette Week.
The idea to reach out to Armisen - who has spoofed the city in his IFC series Portlandia - was first pitched to the school's staff by a female student in an attempt to highlight the graduating class's 'Ho11ywood' theme.
Calling on local film contacts, teachers were able to contact Armisen directly and secure his participation in the event.
Armisen and Sleater-Kinney musician Carrie Brownstein's comedy programme Portlandia has enticed guest stars like Heather Graham, Kyle MacLachlan and Steve Buscemi to poke fun at Portland's hipster reputation in sketches spoofing local music festivals and flighty politicians.
Portlandia has been renewed for a second season, which is to premiere in January 2012.
