Adam Young sent the country singer a version of her track 'Enchanted' on February 14 after concluding that the song was about him.
The original track, which appears on Swift's 2010 album Speak Now, was reportedly inspired by the pair's first meeting in New York. Swift also capitalised the letters 'ADAM' in the CD's lyric booklet.
The 'Fireflies' singer told US Weekly: "[I was] a little [heartbroken]. I'm not that eloquent, and I may have said something wrong. I never heard back!"
Swift dated actor Jake Gyllenhaal until their break-up in December, and has since been romantically linked to Country Strong star Garrett Hedlund.
