Eva Mendes comedy 'gave mum a heart attack'

Eva Mendes has revealed that her mum wasn't impressed with a raunchy comedy sketch in which she starred.

The actress explained that the spoof video for website funnyordie.com alongside Will Ferrell gave her mum a "heart attack".

"I was filming The Other Guys with Will and the director Adam McKay, who are behind the website, and they were like, 'Mendes is funny'. And I was like, 'Why act so surprised? Dude, just give me something to do'," she told Stylist.

"So after a couple of months they called and said they had this sketch about a sex tape. It's a play on words though - it's about sticky tape - you have to see it.

"It's still one of the top videos on funnyordie.com but it gave my mother a heart attack. She wouldn't even watch it, even after I told her it was a joke.

"I was like, 'Mum, it's funny and cute,' but it got to the point where I just had to let it go."

Mendes said that her mum keeps her updated by following her actions online.

She added: "Sometimes I don't even know what's happening until my mum alerts me. She has me on Google Alerts.

"But I think sometimes she feels that's the only way she can keep in touch with me."

Mendes recently shared her belief that marriage has become impersonal.
