Cameron Diaz: 'Marriage limits possibilities'

Cameron Diaz has revealed that marriage isn't important to her.

The actress, who is rumoured to have split from her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez, said that she believes marriage is restrictive.

She told Cosmopolitan: "Marriage hasn't been important to me. I believe we are with who we're supposed to be when we're supposed to be with them.

"If I try and lock something down, I miss out on all the possibilities of what it could be."

The 38-year-old explained that she never plans for the future, commenting: "There's no destination. All I can say is that I'm in a constant forward motion."

Diaz also admitted that she's not sure whether she will have children.

She added: "You can't have a child just because you think it's something you're supposed to do. It doesn't make sense for everyone. It's not an absolute for me."

Diaz and Rodriguez previously dated for seven months in 2010, before breaking up last November.
