The incident at the Reflex Gallery was caught on film by television channel AT5. Moby is seen rubbing his neck and looking uncomfortable before slumping down and collapsing on the floor below the stage.
However, the electronic musician recovered and went on to perform at the event.
Moby wrote a message on his official website to reassure his fans that he was OK. He said: "Yes, I was mildly electrocuted during an acoustic show at the Reflex Gallery in Amsterdam. But I'm feeling a-ok now. Maybe I even had some accidental electro shock therapy. Thanks for your concern."
He later tweeted: "Thanks for coming to the acoustic show. I apologise for being electrocuted.
"Damn. Being electrocuted in the neck kind of hurts. Ah well, feeling much better. Glad it wasn't worse. God bless Tesla."
Moby recently said that songs from the likes of Ke$ha and Britney Spears are not music. He is set to appear at this year's iTunes Festival in London on July 31.
