It has been revealed that Gwyneth Paltrow had to keep the details of her father's struggle with cancer secret on the set of his latest movie.
Gwyneth's father, Bruce Paltrow, asked her to keep the fact that he could not swallow from the cast and crew on the set of Duets, which he was directing.
Due to complications with chemotherapy Bruce found eating and drinking very difficult as his widow Blythe Danner recalled: "He flew to Vancouver to direct Duets, but his salivary glands were shot, a side effect of the radiation. He couldn't swallow easily, he couldn't eat.
"He had a feeding tube inserted in his stomach. He did not want people to know the pain he was in... It was just excruciating."
She also revealed that her husband was a secret advisor to other cancer sufferers in the months before he lost his life.
