The 63-year-old, who is married to 38-year-old Susan, has four children from his two previous marriages. He claimed that the difference has never been an issue despite Susan being the same age as his daughter.
"[Susan and Verity are] great friends," Essex told The Mirror.
The former teen idol also said that he is still on good terms with both of his ex-wives, Maureen Neal and Carlotta Christy.
"They are both wonderful ladies and we all get along," he added.
Essex hinted that he may not be finished with raising a family, admitting that he and Susan are considering having a child of their own.
"I'd think about it, yeah," he replied, when asked about the possibility. "I do like babies depending on how they behave. But we're a bit busy at the moment."
Essex made his first appearance on EastEnders earlier this month as antiques dealer Eddie Moon, and recently admitted that there are some similarities between himself and his character.
