John Ibrahim splits from Chelsea Mitchell

John Ibrahim and Chelsea Mitchell have ended their relationship, according to reports.

The 40-year-old Australian nightclub owner, who was immortalised as a character in crime drama Underbelly, apparently called off his two-year engagement to 23-year-old fashion student Mitchell two weeks ago.

A source told The Daily Telegraph: "He's been hanging out and partying with friends a lot more lately and is trying to move on. He called off the engagement towards the end of May. He realised he and Chelsea are very different."

A friend of Mitchell added: "Things have not been good but they are one of those on/off couples, so you just don't know what's [going] to happen."

Before his relationship with Mitchell, Ibrahim dated Victoria's Secret model Elyse Taylor for about three years. The pair are still believed to be great friends.

He has also been said to have a close "bond" with swimwear model Lara Bingle. Shortly before Bingle split from cricketer Michael Clarke last year, her friends said that the sports star was upset to discover "phone calls and texts" from Ibrahim" on her phone "at all times of the day and night".

Last year, Ibrahim described himself as the "black sheep" of his relationship with Mitchell, saying: "[The Kings Cross nightclub district] really isn't her scene. She's a good girl from a good family."
