Jennifer Connelly, Paul Bettany welcome baby girl

Jennifer Connelly has given birth to a baby girl, according to reports.

The Beautiful Mind actress and husband Paul Bettany welcomed daughter Agnes Lark Bettany via a water birth on May 31, a representative told Us Weekly.

The couple are already parents to son Stellan, 7, and Connelly's 13-year-old son Kai from a previous relationship.

Connelly, who confirmed the pregnancy in December, previously said that the boys were "thrilled" at the prospect of welcoming a younger sibling.

In the same interview with David Letterman, she admitted that the first three months of the pregnancy had been "sketchy" because of morning sickness, joking that it was similar to "bad cell phone service" because she only felt well standing in one place.

Connelly said: "I had to stand in one spot which happened to be in front of my refrigerator which was open with me dipping pretzels in cream cheese and stuffing them in my mouth! If I did that I was good!"

She met Bettany on the set of A Beautiful Mind - for which she won a 'Best Supporting Actress' Oscar - and they later appeared on screen together again in Creation.

They married in a private ceremony in Scotland in 2003.
